You can obtain the SYMPHONY source code either via the subversion repository or in the form of archived releases. The recommended method in Unix is to use subversion because it makes it easier to obtain updates. In a Unix-like environment (such as Linux or CYGWIN), the following command may be used to obtain SYMPHONY from source using SVN in most cases:

 svn checkout SYMPHONY-5.2
Alternatively, you can get point releases of the source code as a compressed file by visiting
The latest version of the source code is 5.2.3, so you should download the file SYMPHONY-5.2.3.tgz and unpack the distribution with
 tar -xzf SYMPHONY-5.2.3.tgz
This will create a subdirectory called SYMPHONY-5.2.3 containing the distribution.
